This year, we teamed up with London-based Fashion Blogger Yuliya to give you the low-down on which trends to look out for this season. Plus, what happened when she took over our Insta feed. Since this is the 6th Fashion Week she’s attended, we were so excited for her takeover!
What’s your top tip to survive London Fashion Week?
It always gets very intense during London Fashion Week. It’s easy to get tired, overwhelmed by the amount of the information you receive and people you get to meet, not to mention the lack of sleep and time to eat properly. It’s important to know how to unwind.
My top tips for surviving LFW:
What trends stood out for you at London Fashion Week?
When it comes to trends, I really like them all, because they allow us all to express our personalities and feel unique. Here are my favourites from this year’s LFW:
Tell us a bit more about your @JusFabUK Instagram takeover.
First of all, it was a great fun to take over the @JustfabUK Instagram account for London Fashion Week. I love sharing my experience with fashion-minded people!
For the second day of London Fashion, I attended the Sabinna and John Herrera Spring/Summer 2018 shows (which I shared on my insta stories). I absolutely loved the sophisticated and feminine collection by Sabinna and dramatic collection by John Hererra. The contrast was perfect.
I also got to hang out at The Blogger Programme Hangout Party. It’s always fun to attend such events because you can catch up with your favourite brands and discover their new products. Plus, they provide delicious snacks, drinks and makeovers to get you going. Finally, it’s a cool way to meet new bloggers or catch up with your besties.
I really wanted to share a street style photo! There are so many cool looks to get inspiration from. My favourite was a jacket decorated with sequins and feathers. I thought it was very brave and a bit unusual.
Could you tell us a bit about the second outfit you styled and shared on your profile, please?
The outfit I have chosen to wear is based on a combination of the midi dress and oversized sweater. I wanted to look feminine, but trendy. That’s why I accessorised the outfit with a beautiful royal blue velvet backpack, very trendy metallic boots and some cute jewellery. I decided to go for a pair of silver earrings with blue tassels to match the backpack and boots. A sweet choker with a little crystal also added a touch of sparkle!
When it comes to London Fashion Week, I am always very thoughtful of what I wear. I want the outfit to reflect my style, embrace some of the upcoming trends and feel comfortable.
I went for a backpack because it fits all of my LFW essentials – a bottle of water, my camera, all the invites, a pair of flat shoes and some makeup. But the key element of this look was definitely a pair of metallic boots that got a lot of attention from street style photographers – which was exactly what I wanted!
