We tend to forget that our hands are also suffering from the cold. Often we remember when our hands feel dry and taut, which can sometimes be very painful. But don’t worry, there are simple solutions to put into practice that will keep hands soft all winter! Here are some tips:
Tip #1: In winter, do not skimp on the cream you apply to your hands. Hands are prone to drying out more quickly in the cold. Swap your usual cream for a richer cream, such as shea butter, and don’t hesitate to apply several times a day.
Tip #2: Good hydration needs a good scrub first! Here’s an idea for an exfoliating and moisturising hand mask.
First, mix the oil and honey until smooth texture. Then add lemon and sugar. Once well mixed, take a small amount of this mask massage gently on hands for a few minutes. That’s it! Now you’ll have beautifully hydrated hands that are free of any dead skin.
Tip #3: During winter, water is the enemy of your hands. Avoid washing hands too often, and cold water is preferred (hot water worsens dehydration). If you must have prolonged contact with water, such as doing the dishes or cleaning, try to use gloves to protect your hands. Please do not forget to dry your hands well!
Tip #4: The night can be a great opportunity to pamper and moisturise hands thoroughly. Apply a thick layer of moisturiser on your hands, and cover with a pair of gloves. The heat will increase all the benefits of the cream and will make your hands more beautiful!
Now that you have all these tips, you will have no excuses not to care for your hands!
